RPI Chair Election Open Thread

What say you? The Register thinks it will be Strawn.

  1. Weather could play a roll in the vote today. Central Iowa got a heavier snow fall than expected. While many SCC members are probably in town for last nights sub committee meetings, it might prove difficult for the Chair and Co-Chair candidates to get to Des Moines and give their closing remarks.

  2. Herschel, you've really come up the ladder with your crayons and artwork as of late.

I have an idea, please enlarge your milk carton artwork and allow for copy privileges, I'll make duplicate panels, paste them onto real milk cartons and serve our boys and girls in the statehouse some milk and cookies next week.

I know how hard the Dems will work to spend our money and provide cover to Big Lug and leadership...in fact, they'll probably have to take a mid-day break and roll out the nap rugs!

When we wake them up, we'll serve the milk and cookies and each carton will have your great artwork!!

  3. Whoever is elected chairman today has my full support. These Democrats are destroying our state and nation and we must create a full-frontal assault.

There can be no retreating. It's go, Republican team!!!!

  7. Meeting starts at 10:00, assuming it started on time. Open the meeting, prayer, pledge, approve minutes, old business...etc. This could take some time but hopefully not, new business...and then the candidates have their last stab at glory to sway the SCC members. At that time, a vote is conducted by secret ballot, therefore the only way you know who each SCC member voted for is to ask each one. I'm sure someone will reverse engineer the math later so we'll be able to figure out each SCC's choice. We'll assume that any vote totals of (1) would be the voting candidates giving themselves the honor..

That's when the blackberries will be chirping all about our blizzard ravaged state.

    My guess....11:15 CST -

As for no shows, I'm sure the vote will proceed anyway, there will be a quorum and the "Chungman" will steer proceedure, via absentee or proxy votes....it'll get done today.

Krusty...you'd be drinking with Big Lug too if you had to blog on this for another week!

  13. Deace will do his best to destroy the new chairman. We have to learn to ignore him.

I'm very pleased about this, the vote shows true honor on the part of the voting candidates!!

  18. It's Kurtenbach (and a great choice). And all this discussion about Steve Deace shows over and over that all of the bloggers think that Polk County rules the world. Those of us in NW Iowa and other areas outside of the center of the universe don't/can't listen to Mr. Deace. Stop talking about him. All you do is glorify him by the incessant comments.

  19. But Deace is the poster boy of all that is wrong with the GOP.
