Yepsen worries that financial crisis could lead to Culver having a stroke

In this morning’s press conference Governor Chet Culver bristled at David Yepsen’s question about whether or not he would have to come back and make more cuts.

Again, another must read from Yepsen.

  3. I wish Deace no ill. I just wish he would go away. This dude is so confused he claims to be this great pro-life Christian and then he votes for Obama who has an agenda of killing all the unborn babies possible.

  4. Hey the post here was about Chet Not Stroking, not Steve Deace. Dipshit.

So anyway, Chet Not Too Fat has a history in his family...his father had a terrible temper and would routinely curl the hair of the most seasoned Marine with his tirades, outbursts and language.

    All in the family.

Maybe we should call him Chet Not Archie Bunker (almost not)

  9. Deace -

How do you reconcile your christian views with your vote for Obama?

  10. Anonymous...how often do you explain yourself to people too gutless to come out from behind their Internet camouflage?

I'm easy to find, and explain myself all the time -- but only to people, not anonymous posters on a website. We're live on a 50,000-watt radio station each weekday, and my direct line at my desk is 515-245-8836. Or, you're welcome to come down and meet me in person over the lunch hour if you'd like. Our address is 2141 Grand Avenue in Des Moines.

    Thanks.

  11. don't worry deace, the jerk whose only argument against you is your weight, is one of those doug gross republicans who want everyone to shut up about abortion. he doesn't give a shit about abortion. he's just pissed that dougy was not given a free pass on your show. You showed doug gross for what he is - a person without ideology of any sort - and frankly, i discovered he's not all that bright either. he's way overhyped. no substance at all.

So, dipshit up there - go finish your cookies and milk. deace is the best thing the republicans have going for them right now.

its the only place where republicans can talk to the voters - those that might not already be a perfect 4 for 4 republican voter.

If the rants primary gang (or rastetter/rants) think dougy is going to do it for them on the Insiders with John Bachman, Culver has it won already.

  12. Culver says "This is not a game". The Dems are up to thier age old tricks, BAIT AND SWITCH. They are not cutting spending. They are cutting increases! Legislative Services Bureau reveals the truth.
2008 Budget: 5.898 Billion; 2009 Budget: 6.014 Billion; 2010 Budget: 6.232 Billion. How can an increase be a cut!! Darrell Kearney

  14. Who the hell is Steve Deace?

  15. Deace is a kook talk show host who claims to be pro-life and then he votes for Obama. He's equally confused on almost all other issues. He claims to be a conservative but cuts the legs out of almost all Republicans therefore helping Democrats.

Don't worry about it--he is not worth the time to listen. Hannity is far better.

  16. Marty and Miller are killing Deace in the same time slot - shoulda stuck with sports.

  17. Maybe you haven't looked at a ratings book lately, but no...Marty and Miller are not killing me in the same slot. They have a great show, and probably one of the best local sports talk shows in the country.

I actually think they're better at sports talk radio than I ever was, but they're not killing me in the ratings. You're closer to accurate by calling me fat then by making that uninformed statement that could easily be reconciled by looking at the latest ratings book out today.

  20. deace has the best political talk show on the air in Iowa. He's had several legislators on the show recently. Jody Tymeson and Kent Sorenson a day or so ago. Ed Failor Jr was on yesterday talking about Culvers budget. I've heard him on there earlier talking about his proposed bill on budget transparency - brilliant, by the way!.

He's got a weekly roundtable on Friday's from 6-7 with Sporer, Narcisse and a democrat (can't think of his name). They argue all angles of the topic.

Iowa Press and Iowa Insiders are boring boring boring boring. All they do is play pattycake with each other.

Deace has ramped up his show and it's getting to be really interesting. Way too many commercials though.

I am thrilled to be able to get some political news coverage that the Register used to do back when they were a NEWS paper.

Glad to see his show is
