Jeff Boeyink to serve as RPI’s Executive Director

Earlier today RPI Chairman Matt Strawn sent an email to the State Central Committee and other Republican leaders in the state letting them know that he will be forwarding Jeff Boeyink’s name to be his ED. Boeyink brings a ton of experience from his time with Iowan’s for Tax Relief.

This is a good hire, we are lucky to have someone of his qualifications run the day-to-day operation at the Republican Party of Iowa

  1. Boeyink is best hire imagineable. His skill set is a perfect fit. This is just what the Party needs!

  2. ITR has run candidates against Rs in primaries if they thought the incumbent was too tax happy. Can we expect similar behavior from him as the executive director of RPI? Will he want to banish participants if they don't toe his line, whatever that may be?

  3. Please don't get your butts all tight and in an uproar over this, I'm really not naive and I do understand the realities.

Just musing a bit, the thought has occurred to me that for all the lip service we-the-people give to the ideal of electing part-time, citizen representation in Washington and our 50 State Capitals, we have no qualms about hiring full-time mercenaries and "trained-killers" to aid in getting the representation elected.

  4. All the best to Boeyink.

good luck working with that SCC especially those 6 to 8 who only seek to undermine from within.

    they know who they are.

  5. Jeff Boeyink is well-respected by many, and I'm confident he'll do a good job. And though I mean no disrespect to past EDs, the reality is this position often goes to young people with some campaign experience, but little leadership and management experience. Much like the new leadership team at Iowa GOP, I believe this selection is based on competency rather than a particular ideology, political connections or ambitions. That's exactly what's most needed in an ED...leadership and competency...and I personally think Jeff Boeyink will do well in that role.

  8. 8:05 AM--"Why did he leave ITR."

--Because with Obama's Stimulus plan, there will not be any tax relief for anyone.

  9. I am excited about the appointment of Jeff Boeyink. He understands fiscal responsibility! We are taking steps in the right directions. Next step, unifying votes on all tax increases in the house and Senate. I will advocate for this from my colleagues! We are rebuilding one brick at a time!!

  11. I worked for Jeff Boeyink running the Ohio branch of NTU for nearly a decade. Jeff is a class act and a man of great character.

He was a great boss and a better friend. This is great, great news for our GOP friends in Iowa!

  12. ITR has worked to defeat some good Republicans in campaigns and therefore has weakened RPI in the process. How ironic that they are now running the party?

  13. Jeff did a wonderful job at ITR until he became an ALCOHOLIC and could not stop drinking and it overtook his work

  14. We don't need anymore addicted people running anything. Just look up the characteristics of an addict. I know that the above comment about him being an alcoholic is a true statement.
